    The Artist

Nishal Ramnunan is a South African & American music composer, producer, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist (piano, saxophone, and guitar). He is a self-taught musician who has delved into the realm of cinematic music, pop, rock, smooth jazz, and classical music. His career began in 1997 at the tender age of just 6 years old. He was taught some basic piano skills by his dad and went on to study music independently – resulting in extensive experience in performance, composition, and production.

During his middle school years, he performed in marching band, jazz band, and concert band. During this time, he made quite the name for himself by performing as a solo artist and first chair alto saxophone player. He had a tendency to perform a lot of Kenny G covers and even got his school band to cover the song “Going Home” which he led on Saxophone and gained much recognition for – which led to countless opportunities to earn an income for his skills. Later on, he attended Deland High School in Deland, Florida and joined the concert band. He stepped away from additional school-related music activities to focus more on learning to produce music and as such, became rather popular among local rappers, bands, and singers whom wanted to record songs. He ran a home-based recording studio and produced a large volume of music for various artists and bands during these years while simultaneously producing his own music and performing at bars, restaurants, and corporate functions.

Nishal later went on to study a form of alternative medicine known as Ayurveda in India and became an Ayurvedic doctor. Unfortunately, during this time, music took a bit of a backseat – however, he did independently release an album called “Beautiful Lie” as well as various covers and singles.

Upon his return to the USA, he unfortunately suffered a vocal cord hemorrhage and started to move further and further away from music as he began to focus on his wellness practice. Over the course of about 7 years he barely produced much music though he dreamed of coming back to the industry and making it big. Eventually, in 2021, he officially released a debut album called “Double-Minded”. The album was independently released and distributed world-wide. He later released two singles “I Don’t Wanna Live This Life” and “Remember Us”. Upon his engagement to his long-time girlfriend and now wife, he released a 6-song EP named after his lover, titled “Tamlyn’s Lullaby”.

That brings us to his most recent transition into cinematic music. In June 2025, he unfortunately suffered another vocal cord injury and subsequently developed a multitude of health disorders that turned his life upside-down leaving him unable to continue practicing Ayurvedic medicine for almost three months. During this time, he decided to experiment with a form of music which he never tried before – cinematic music. Being a huge fan of Hans Zimmer, Nishal attempted to emulate some of the legend’s music, resulting in the development of a deep understanding of cinematic composition and production. In a matter of three months, while working tirelessly day and night, Nishal composed, recorded and produced his first cinematic music album titled “Hero’s Dream” which he independently released world-wide on November 25th, 2025.

With a renewed love for music, Nishal has since returned to the fold and is now actively pursuing music as a full-time career for both cinematic music production as well as performance.
